What are the best furniture stores in the Houston, Texas area? I have researched the various furniture stores in the Houston, Texas area and Rooms To Go and Ashley Furniture had furniture I liked for prices I could afford. However, even though BBB gives the stores fairly good ratings, consumer reviews are not good. The BBB is not reporting any complaints against Star Furniture but the store prices are a little beyond my budget as is the case with Gallery. Any suggestions would be a great help?

Can anyone please let me know of any good vintage/retro furniture stores in the Houston area? I am going to Houston soon and want to shop for retro/vintage furniture. I used to live in Stuttgart, Germany and there was this furniture store that carried these sofas where the cushions were so long and wide that you could sit all the way to the back of the sofa and your feet wouldn't even reach the end of the cushion (depending on how tall you are lol). Possible win for the Texans? Okay, I will admit it: I am a Houstonian who despises her home football team! There, I said it! But you know what? At least I am willing to admit it! Just recently, entrepeneur and owner/president of Gallery Furniture (a Houston-based furntiture store), "Matress Mac", decided to offer customers 1000, 4000, and even up to 10000 worth of furniture if the Texans would win against Dallas on Sunday. (For those of you who aren't away of the results, it was a Dallas win, 34-6.) Now maybe it's just me, but that is a HUGE gamble for someone who supposedly idolizes the Texans to take. What do you guys think? Do you think this was merely a costly publicity stunt, or has "Mr. Moneybags" lost his faith in the team? Oops...typo..."away" should be "aware!" Sorry guys!

Has anyone used UPS to deliver online furniture? I'm thinking about ordering 2 sofas from west elm online (they are out of the sofas in the Houston location, and I would have to pay for the shipping from another store plus home delivery, so online is my only option). So a few questions: 1. How long did it take your order to arrive? 2. Did it arrive via UPS? 3. Did UPS make an appointment to drop it off and did UPS keep the appt? 4. Do you live in a house or apt.? 5. Were you home when UPS delivered the package? If not, did they reschedule an appt. or did you have to go pick it up from the UPS central location? I'm worried that if I order it online, UPS will only deliver it to the front office of my apt. building and I will have to lug 2 sofas up 3 flights of stairs, or worse, that they will come by and I will be at work and I have to haul it from the central UPS site. French inspired bedroom? I recently decided to redo my room. The furniture I have chosen is all black. The bed is like, a full or queen (I think queen) black metal frame. The two bedside tables are black with silver metal knobs. A six drawer dresser, two columns and three rows. Black with silver metal knobs. Another dresser, but one that's taller and thinner. I don't know what they're called. An armoire with same basic details. I have a fairly large room with a large 8ft long, 4ft high window. I need paint and simple decoration ideas, please. Color schemes to follow would be nice. And like, little quotes from old French movies and poster ideas would also be useful. I live in the general Houston area, and my mom doesn't really do online shopping (I'm 14, no credit card), so I'll need stores that I can find around here. All ideas are greatly appreciated!
